NYAHSA Names Barnes a Trustee of the Year
Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center Leader Recognized by NYAHSA
(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY) – Sister Carol Barnes, chair of the board of trustees of the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center of New York City, recently received a NYAHSA Trustee of the Year award from the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) at its annual conference in Saratoga Springs, New York.
NYAHSA represents the state's not-for-profit, mission-driven and public long term care providers. The Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center, a 136-bed health center for children with a wide range of medical conditions and disabilities, is a member of the association.
"Sister Carol Barnes was recognized for her ability to assume and master leadership positions," said Gary Breuilly, chair of the NYAHSA Board of Directors. "She is particularly appreciated for her determination to bring different voices together and lead them to create a strategic plan and united vision of their future."
"For her role as a guiding force in the long-term care of children, we recognize Sister Carol Barnes as a NYAHSA Trustee of the Year," stated Breuilly at the conference awards ceremony.
Founded in 1961, the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging is the only statewide organization representing the entire continuum of not-for-profit and public continuing care, including nursing homes, senior housing, adult care facilities, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living providers, and community service providers. NYAHSA's more than 550 mission-driven members serve an estimated half-million New Yorkers of all ages annually.
