Board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners work closely with families and caregivers to address the complex medical needs of the infants, children and adolescents at the Pediatric Center. These full-time medical staff members provide primary care services which include comprehensive initial, monthly and annual assessments, medication reviews, and laboratory testing. In addition they evaluate and order treatments for residents who develop acute problems such as fever or respiratory distress. The primary providers work closely with the staff physiatrist and clinical geneticist and with sub-specialists in dentistry, cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pulmonology and surgery who visit the Center on a regular basis.
