Mental Health professionals assist our children, their families and Pediatric Center staff to deal with the emotional and behavioral issues connected to serious illness in children, differing levels of ability and the effects of being in a residential nursing facility. A psychologist assesses each child on admission to determine the need for individual or group therapy, mental health programming, or referral to a psychiatrist. As needed, the children receive psychotherapy at a level appropriate to their developmental stage.
