Welcome to Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center. Our web site will describe our history, mission, program offerings, and introduce you to what has become each child's best friend, our charming and resilient caterpillar playfully named "Betsy."

Meet our fabulous children and our namesake, St. Elizabeth Seton, whose life and challenges so closely mirrors those faced by our families. We are proud of our heritage and sponsorship by the Sisters of Charity and our longstanding affiliation with the New York Foundling. We are in awe of our children and their families who have the courage to face the stress of illness and see beyond disabilities to discover the many possibilities that life can bring.

Living our mission each day requires an extraordinary balance of joys with struggles as we help each child reach a new milestone, however large or small. Our staff demonstrates an unwavering belief that all children, regardless of level of ability, possess unique needs, gifts, and personalities. We place the child and each family in the center of each care decision. This philosophy of holistic child-centered or child-first care is what we call our Continuous Learning Experience, a customized leadership training effort that teaches all staff how to integrate care with the essential elements of childhood.

Staff earned accolades and state-wide recognition for our model of care by receiving the "Innovation of the Year Award" in 2005 from a professional healthcare association. But, our children reward us everyday by responding to our approach to care as they learn, play and grow in ways that were not always imagined to be possible. Childhood must be magical for children and at Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center childhood is magical for every person who shares life with our children.

Explore our web site, click on the "How You Can Help" link to discover the many ways you can join us in our exciting journey, see the beautiful snapshots of children's faces, and then come visit us to personally walk on our children's ground. You will be forever changed. As spoken by St. Elizabeth Seton, "The front door, the back door, the side door that leads to the chapel... the windows upstairs and down all open at your coming." You will be forever welcome.

Sincerely,
Patricia Tursi
